Supervision in the US
Brian, I really appreciate you wriring about Coaching Supervision and brining awareness of it to the CoachSource global coaching network. When I was a leader at the Global Board of the International Coach Federation, supervision came up in discussions as an important practice for the sustainability of the coaching industry longterm. I became curious and decided to enrol in the first program offered in the US by CSA with the encouragement of Janet Harvey and Eva Hirsch Pontes. I got so much pesonal value, like you working with Gloria, that I became an advocate of coaching supervision worldwide. It has been very well received in Latin America but, interstingly, I encountered a lof of resistance in experienced coaches in the US. I think there are missperceptions. Many coaches associate supervision to "control" or "management" instead of reflextion on our work and enhancing its quality by looking into our blind spots. I can´t imagine myself working without a supervisor for the rest of life. I treasure everytime I have an opportunity to reflect on my clients, my work, and most improtant myself. Damian Goldvarg, MCC.
